Life Of Sachi
Guys. This may just be the most exciting blogpost I've written because I HAVE A DOG! After years of back and forth, deep introspection, and too many squeals to count, I finally have my own fur baby to love, and it's all so surreal.
I'd like to take a moment to pay homage to the previous fur babies in my life. Our family dog when I was growing up was named Foxy. She was a 5-year-old American Eskimo and Pomeranian mix at the time we adopted her, and she lived with us until a ripe old age (we think 12, but we never knew her exact birthday). The vet told us she wouldn't fare well on the trip back to Shanghai since she had some health problems, so the foster Mom who had been looking after her before us decided to take her back, and promised to give her a permanent home; this was 2006. (I wanted to find a picture of her, but will need to dig deep into my archaic hard drive)
After we moved back in Shanghai and when I was in high school, we got a Miniature Poodle from a neighbour's dog who had puppies. We named her Bambi. At the time, I was in boarding school, so I only got to spend time with her over the weekends. Unfortunately, my Dad got sick around that time, and it was recommended that we don't keep any pets because his immune system was so affected. She only lived with us for 3 months, and got to go back to living with her human and dog Mom. We got to see her on walks downstairs for the next few years until the family moved away.
A month ago, this little guy came into our life under very surprising circumstances, and it's been quite magical every since - poop cleanup and all. For anyone who wants to learn a bit more about him, feel free to watch the video below. I look and felt super awkward in this one knowing my Youtube voice was potential disturbing one of my flatmates, but Sachi's the main focus anyway. Thanks for sharing this exciting time with me!
