Review: Paco Rabanne Lady Million
I bought this perfume on a whim (or rather caved because I was getting nauseous from testing all the ones in the store that day). I had only previously tried Paco Rabanne's 1 Million. In fact, my best friend was so obsessed with the male fragrance that I bought her 1 Million for her birthday. It does make the ladies go crazy.
The brand describes the perfume as having fresh top notes of bitter orange, fleshy raspberry and neroli, followed by floral notes of orange blossom and Arabian jasmine and base notes of patchouli, honey and amber , making it 'vibrant and sensual'. Based on the reviews, most people agree that it's mature, elegant, and easy to wear.
First, the bottle is gorgeous, albeit a bit tacky. To me, the sweet notes (raspberry) are stronger than the floral ones and I don't really get much of the pachouli in the base notes. It does come off as a mature, classy scent but unfortunately in a generic way. There's nothing spectacular about the fragrance but it is easy to wear and I don't feel that it's necessarily an evening scent. But it does have pretty good lasting power and since the fragrance is so well known, chances are perfume enthusiasts will be able to recognise it.
Overall, this is a solid throw-on perfume for everyday although it's probably good not to overdo it since.
